Centurion Plus team leading the German office
Centurion Law Group has launched its flexible legal service arm, Centurion Plus, in Germany to cater to their European clients. We are delighted to introduce here the Centurion Plus team who will be overseeing the smooth running of the German office.
Oneyka Cindy Ojogbo
Oneyka, Head of Centurion, Germany, is responsible for the management and operations of Centurion Plus in Germany and the wider Europe. She has garnered significant experience from her practice in the United States of America and in multiple countries across Africa. Oneyka has worked on innovative and novel energy and finance projects. She is a Columbia Law graduate, licensed to practice in both New York State and Nigeria.
Oneyka is a firm believer in the Centurion Plus on-demand legal service, which is poised to transform the legal industry. Centurion Plus offers improved alternative working solutions to businesses and lawyers by providing bespoke, cost-effective legal services to cater to our client’s unique needs. She is confident that flexible legal practice as championed by Centurion is the inevitable future of lawyering.
Oneyka worked with the team to successfully pioneer this new legal service in Africa and is excited to implement the service in Germany.
Keseena Chengadu
Keseena Chengadu is Director of Centurion Plus, acting in a strategic advisory role to support the firm’s European clients in their cross-jurisdictional investment ventures.
For over a decade, her practice has focussed on cross-border financial and corporate investment-related matters, including tax structuring, M&A, project finance and transfer pricing. Combining technical excellence with commercial acumen, Keseena regularly offers her clients innovative solutions to achieve their investment and business objectives while mitigating risk.
With considerable experience in the energy and oil and gas sector, her client base is diverse and includes institutions, government entities and private investors who are seeking to restructure their business, invest or carry out business in Africa and internationally.
Of particular note is Keseena’s work for clients on the OHADA and CEMAC regulations in the African region. She was also an integral member of the drafting and reviewing team involved in the preparation of the Energy Act in Equatorial Guinea.
She is fluent in English and French.
Leon van der Merwe
Since 2019, Leon has been Director of Centurion Plus where he plays a strategic role overseeing the recruitment and quality assurance of the firm’s pool of legal consultants.
A specialist in commercial, corporate, banking and financial law and civil and general litigation, Leon has acted for many major national and international corporations across various industries, including forestry, mining, construction, oil and gas, engineering and retail and as such, is adept at applying legal and procedural knowledge to business and commerce in the real world.
Career highlights include, representing the third largest state-owned forestry company in South Africa under the Department of Public Enterprises, acting for a major fiber optic and telecommunication company in Africa, advising an international infrastructure and resources company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and representing one of the largest financial services groups in Africa as well as two renowned property development and investment companies. He was also an instrumental member of the team which brought an instituting action to recover investors’ money amounting to 53 million Euros against a major financial institution.
Leon is admitted to practice at the High Court of South Africa and is a member of both the International Bar Association and the Association of Young Arbitrators.
Paloma Gutiérrez Keever
Paloma’s mandate is to support the growth of Centurion Plus’ German business development activities. In particular, her remit is to establish partnerships between Centurion Plus and European firms and corporations and increase the firm’s online and offline presence.
An established legal marketing consultant, Paloma helps and guides law firms with their communications and marketing strategies. She possesses an extensive and valuable understanding of legal directories, lead generation, management and improvement of online reputation and overseeing the complete client acquisition cycle.
